YouTubers that helped me to learn more about Japan, (PART 1/3) ; Culture
This time I'm going to quickly introduce some of my favorite youtubers who make videos about their experiences in Japan.
There is going to be three separate parts in this series where the each channel will be classified under one of these three different categories "Culture", "Fashion&Beauty" or "Cooking&Baking" to make it easier to keep up and not so painfully long to read.

A few of the channels introduced here have been under my attention for ages ever since I knew almost nothing about Japan. It has been an interesting and a long journey learning and watching these channels and Youtubers to grow bigger and succesful along my own abount of knownledge of Japanese culture. If you are interested in Japan or something related to it's rich culture I warmly recommend you to check out these channels! Click the pictures and it'll take you to the main page of each channel~

♥ Loves cats and has a cat called Maro.
♥ Fun and casual style in general.
♥ Moved to Japan to study and now works in Tokyo. Right at the moment Sharla is in the middle of moving to another apartment and soon getting married; so many vlogs related to that recently!

Rachel & Jun and Rachel & Jun's Adventures!
♥ An American/Japanese married couple living in Japan.
♥ Their main channel Rachel&Jun grew quickly to be one of the most well known YouTube cannels introducing Japan to the viewers after Rachel decided to start making Youtube videos. The content is made to be kind of teaching and there is also a lot of helpfull quidance for those who want to visit Japan or know more about the rules and society in Japan. Rachel&Jun Adventures came along later as a second channel. The atmosphere there is more relaxed and also the variety of different videos is more numerous. The videos in the second channel show more of the casual daily life of Rachel and Jun.
♥ Rachel and Jun lived a long time in a long distance relationship until Rachel could move to Japan and start living together with Jun. They met for the first time when Rachel was studying in Japanese university for a short period of time.

♥ Video quality is more than great and it's easy to understand their speaking.
♥ Almost anything you can ask from a channel teaching about Japan! They have a lot of videos on their channel already so make sure to search there if you need some information about something that's in your mind~

♥ Practically everything related to Japan!
Steph Choi
♥ Steph Choi is Korean-Japanese who raised in the US and currently travels a lot. Last time I watched her video she was in Philippines.
♥ Her videos are very casual so the viewers get to see even the most mundane things she decides to vlog about. In my opinion that's such a great thing because there is no unnecessary formalities that aren't really part of the casual daily life with friends and family and you'll get to see another side of the things "behind the media or formal kind of information".
♥ Hanging around with friends, shopping, travelling, food,...

Mimei
♥ Moved from New Zeland to Tokyo for work.
♥ "Magical adventures, cultural investigations, pranks, skits and peeks into my daily life. My only hope is to leave you smiling" -Mimei
♥ She is a new youtuber to me but according to her channel information she has made her channel quite a long ago (1.1.2006).
♥ Has also another channel "Mimei Land"

OkanoTV
♥ Updated by Chris who was raised in America and now lives in Tokyo.
♥ Recently he has been really actively doing videos about travelling and experiences all over Japan because he's one of the youtubers that Odigo Japan is sending to visit and vlog about all 47 Prefectures in Japan! I love how I get to see all different places of Japan and how I'll be able to check his videos up in the future when I'll be visiting those places myself and get some great ideas!
♥ I like how he has an amazing happy and positive aura in his videos even though it's very hard to be a active youtuber.
♥ High guality videos
♥ Culture, collabs, interviews, reviews

Saori in Sapporo
♥ A girl called Kelly (middle name: Saori) from California
♥ Moved to Japan to study in Hokkaido University's MJSP (=Modern Japanese Studies Program) two years ago.
♥ Makes videos about her life in Japan and what it's like to study at Hokudai. I personally value her videos very much because MJSP is the program I also wish to study on in the future. If I don't get in now then (I applied and got inerviewed just recently) I'll probably try applying later again.
♥ A glimpse of California mostly during school vocations.

Only in Japan
♥ Highlights key places to visit in Japan and introduces viewers to everything interesting along the way.
♥ Produced and created by John Daub who has been a regular reporter for NHK World programs since 2008. I think he has a great personality for this kind of program :)
♥ Watching Only in Japan -episodes you usually also get to know a little bit history behind each highlight of the episode. That's great for getting to understand each penomenons in Japan in a long go and also if you don't want to learn information about the popculture and current things only.
♥ Good for those who'll be travelling to Japan and want some ideas for planning what to visit and see.

Einshine
♥ 19-years old half japanese boy called Einshine or just Shine with a very fun personality. Makes jokes a lot so don't take everything he says too seriously and it'll be fine.
♥ Very spontaneous but well made videos! He likes to take a stand on certain topics like those that annoy him.
♥ Loves anime, manga and videogames, especially Dangaronpa (Ibuki Mioda!! gosh ^^*.
♥ Uploads videos often and the goal is to do so 3-4 times a week.
♥ The video covers are drawn by him! Wishes to have a job as a mangaka = comic artist in the future.
♥ Friends with another popular Youtuber "The Anime Man". Check him out for more videos related to anime, manga or videogames!

Life Where I'm From
♥ The channel has been around a year and it has gotten popular very fast and no wonder. It's very hard to find channels that'll introduce life as a young child in Japan this well yet! It's different and interesting because kids are often more honest and you can see the influence of their surroundings starting to get to them.
♥ In the videos you'll also get to know a little bit her other family members and especially her dad who seems to be filming the videos.
Thank you for reading!
Stay tuned for the YouTubers that helped me to learn more about Japan, Part 2 / 3 ; Fashion&Beauty coming soon!
Ooh! Osa näistä on mullekin tuttuja (Rachel&June, Sharla, Strawberry Mochi), mutta toiset taas uusia tuttavuuksia. Pitää käydä tsekkaamassa noi uudet kun pääsen taas koneelle. :D
